About The Company
The utility companies within Bristol Harbour community serve the purpose of providing water and sewage treatment services to residences. Both utilities have over 5 miles of underground piping infrastructure to maintain, while meeting the rigorous regulatory standards required by the NYS DOH and DEC for our respective facilities. It is an interesting process creating potable drinking water & treating sewage, in a manner that is safe for the community that we live in.
Main Responsibilities
On-the-Job Training:
- Receive comprehensive training on the operation of sewer and water treatment processes.
- Learn to operate and monitor equipment, pumps, motors, and control systems.
Equipment Maintenance Assistance:
- Assist in routine maintenance tasks for plant equipment and machinery.
- Learn preventive maintenance procedures and participate in equipment inspections.
Regulatory Compliance Support:
- Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records for regulatory reporting.
Sampling and Analysis Assistance:
- Learn to collect samples of water and wastewater for analysis.
- Assist in conducting basic laboratory tests to assess water quality.
Safety Training:
- Participate in safety training programs to understand and adhere to safety protocols.
- Learn emergency response procedures and participate in drills.
Data Monitoring:
- Observe and learn to monitor data related to plant operations, including flow rates, chemical dosages, and equipment status.
- Report any irregularities or deviations to experienced plant operators.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in technical processes.
- Strong willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Must be able to work individually as well as in a small team environment.
Work Location
This in-person position will work at the Canandaigua, NY location.
Salary Range
